Welcome To Comics Literacy Awareness

claw3 (1) Comics Literacy Awareness (CLAw) is an exciting new literacy charity formed by a group of passionate and highly experienced trustees from the fields of education and comics.
The mission of CLAw is to dramatically improve the literacy levels of UK children through the medium of comics and graphic novels. CLAw will also aim to raise the profile, image and respectability of comics and graphic novels as both a valid art form and as works of literature.

Meet the Trustees

Drawn from the fields of comics, education and publishing, CLAw's team of trustees are all highly experienced, passionate about the potential of comics to improve literacy levels and have been working hard for over 18 months to get CLAw to where it is today. Find out more about them by clicking here.

CLAw Reading Lists are now online!

After many requests from librarians, teachers and parents, CLAw are finally pleased to announce that we have now published our first ever recommended reading lists!

The trustees of CLAw have (with able assitance from some of our closest supporters) compiled three separate lists according to age appropriateness - 8-11 year olds, 11-16 year olds and the over 16s. To see the full lists, please click here or use the link in the side menu.
